Shorty's Loft was founded by Louise Otten in 1995 as a gift store and gallery in Long Lake MN. Focusing on the Southwest, Shorty's Loft specialized in Native American artwork, beautiful bronzes, and hard to find specialty gifts.

In 2000 Louise brought aboard co-owner Nancy Sherman to launch a "Traveling Boutique". This venture includes a 32 foot trailer, built out like an actual store with shelving, belt racks, and jewelry cases and the same great collection of Shorty’s clothing, gifts and accessories. Both Louise and Nancy have been involved in equestrian show jumping and the Boutique would eventually travel from California to the Hamptons in New York. The duo would set up at horse shows sometimes for weeks at a time, ten months out of the year. The store in Long Lake closed its doors in 2004 so that Shorty's could concentrate on traveling to horse shows. In May of 2006, Shorty's Loft opened a new brick and mortar store on Excelsior Boulevard in St. Louis Park MN.

The Traveling Boutique continues to roam, spending the winters in Southern California, and doing select horse shows around the country during the summer months. Shorty's prides its self with offering quality apparel and gift items that are not typical to one's shopping experience.

As you browse our web site we hope you will find Shorty's Loft a fun, fabulous place to shop. We would love the opportunity to see you in person at our boutique. Enjoy!

Shortys Loft proudly supports The 3/50 Project as a means to keeping brick & mortar businesses alive in America.

The 3/50 Project supports local business in small, easily consumable bites.

The goal is simple: Ask consumers to frequent three local brick and mortar businesses they don't want to see disappear, and to spend a very affordable $50 per month doing it.
